College of Monarchs Meeting November 8,2009

In Attendance:  Christina Blake, Priscilla Deville, Jim Smith, Michael Connley, Bobby Kettenacker, Ginger Snap, Viagra Falls, Bob Gilbert, Slade Andrews, and Brooklyn Steele-Tate

Called to order at 1: 19 at Rosie;s Covington Ky

Discussion of Coronation 20 2010 Brooklyn gave 3 proposals for venues. By Board Mtg need to have a decision made for where we are going t o have the venue.

Mike Connelly discussed the breakdown of last 5 years of Coronations, so we can have a cost to determine  how to determine cost etc.  Based on pricing, etc.  Coronation XX Expense Projection for the 3 venues.  Duke Energy Center only venue you are not needed to spend 10,000 minimum. Bobby and Brooklyn discussed what they spent on their coronation for Reign .

Discussion on Boat Cruise also.  Cost may be too high to do it.

Mike presented breakdown of all expenses for last 5 years.

Christina put up for vote should we vote today on Venue selection today, Ginger stated College has to all vote on it.  After venue is decided we will determine a price package .  Jim questioned pricing of $65 is too high.  Mike discussed venue pricing first then decide cost of Coronation 20.  Economy effects cost today.  Brooklyn just needs to  know venue we are using to set it and discuss pricing later. Need a decision made by Board Mtg. next week. Using Millennium Hotel as host hotel.

Minister of Protocol discussion was put on hold until Christina contacts Greg. The Protocol Manual states that the Regalia is the Minister of Protocol’s responsibility. Need a committee set up for this.  There is a need for all college to know all duties.

Lifetime Achievement Award - Discussion is to be made on how and who we determine the title. Ginger thought form a committee to determine how to do it.  Gene Sell wants this award to be given the first recipient and how to set up criteria of it.  Should General Membership be the one to choose it?  College choose criteria  and let members pick  the person?   Should title be a Permanent title also?  Is it a By Law issue also? Jim brought discussion up is that a College Issue?  Tabled until next Meeting.

Admission Into College - How do we choose and elect? General Membership is open to attend meeting.   After  Reign 6 somewhere along line started to vote people in.  Needs to be changed in bylaws? The bylaws now state that once Monarchs step down they have to be voted in to the College of Monarchs.    

Letters To Be Reinstatement - Sylvia submitted letter to be reinstated into College.  Wanting to know what status is and where she stands?    Jim  stated he thinks she should be back into college. Ginger thinks she did wrong doing by check replacement and she stated at meeting on Sept. 23,2007 she admitted to the charges.  Should not be reinstated for that reason.    Mike discussed is it trustful she paid back the money but how do u handle it.  Need to know what bylaws said for 2007? Tabled for now.

Truly  sent letter for reinstatement also, she was on a one year suspension per the Town Hall Meeting Minutes from February 2009/  She can resubmit for re entry no sooner than February 16, 2010. College will revote after that time period.  Ginger states we go back on time frame of how things were voted on then and how now?

College Article in Newsletter - Sam stated that we put a letter in newsletter each month. Explaining what the college is and does. Brooklyn stated Sam was college corner Rep and he was it.  Each month a different college person will write something, Christina will email a different College member each month.  Jim stated start at Reign One and go forward writing things.

Old Business - Major Fundraisers, How do we determine this? Jim stated Last Board questioned how do u determine what is a Major Fundraiser? Jim thinks economy  plays part in determining raise. Don’t know what the answer is.  Article 4 Section 3 C is  where stated how it works.

Mike stated if Regent was supposed to raise money. How do we determine money? Support? Attendance?

Brooklyn stated we take out Major out of this, to Fundraiser outside of weekly shows. Wants to submit to make by law change within next 30 days.

Reinstatement Of Robbie Howard - Cannot be reinstated because she did not step down , so cant be reinstated. Since Gypsy is no long reigning and only reigning Monarch can award titles.  It can’t be done. 

James called to adjourn meeting at  2:43pm.  Bobby seconded.  Christina adjourned the meeting
