Meeting was called to order by Kathy King, President of the Board of Directors at 7:05 pm.

The Purpose was read by Bob Gilbert, Membership Chair.

Kathy King opened the meeting by re-capping Kevin Raleigh’s issue about focusing on AIDS/HIV.  She mentioned how this comment had spurred many conversations after the last meeting.  Jim Smith then stated multiple CDC stats on HIV infection, and recapped the beginning of the disease.  Jim also suggested that we re-focus who we donate our monies to, making sure they are all 501(c)3 organizations only.   At this point, Mike Burke suggested that we make sure we explain at shows why we are there and who we are there for.  Karen Davis brought up the possibility of bringing in representatives from our charities to help educate the groups at the shows/events that we sponsor.

Kathy King then brought up that we should have a representative at the Coalition meetings every month.  She then brought to everyone’s attention that Kevin McGraw had requested to be nominated for Membership Chair, and she informed him that he had not attended enough meetings in the last year to qualify.  She then stressed the importance of signing the attendance sheet and checking the minutes to make sure that attendance is noted.  She then opened the floor for additional nominations since the previous week many people had no power - no new nominations were presented.  She then re-iterated the purpose of these meetings.

Greg Barker was then recognized.  Greg revisited the point that the past is the past, and should be left there.  He then apologized to everyone for his lack of attention and leadership during his reign.

Tom Wherry then pointed out that the past is often difficult to get past, especially when people were hurt.  He brought up the issue of “guerilla warfare” from outside the organization against the organization itself.  He mentioned that trust is going to be an issue with everyone because of things that were said and done in the past.

Jim Smith then addressed Tom, stating that we shouldn’t pay attention to what is being said by those outside the organization.  Jim pointed out that we shoot ourselves in the foot by not following our own rules and regulations.  That discipline is not equally given out for breaking the rules.  Truly Scrumptious then pointed out that we all have to learn to forgive and forget or else the whole organization will suffer.  And she re-iterated the point that not everyone is treated equally.  Truly then apologized for behaviour that caused hurt.

Mike Burke then requested that if anyone has or had a problem with him, that they bring it forth now.

Ed Blevins brought the comment forth that if you have a problem with someone or something, get it out on the table and deal with it before it grows into something bigger than it should be.

Karen Davis then brought up the issue of the perception of the College, whether they are mentors or disciplinarians.  The purpose is not clear.  At this point Gypsy brought up the point that there are 2 Colleges.  One that is controlled by the small “clique” and then the College as a whole which is oft times left out of the decisions.

Mike Burke then brought up the issue of Krystal Kurler being his ICP of the male line during his reign, and the issues that several past monarchs had with that decision.  It was pointed out that several other ICS members had females serving in this fashion, and that nowhere is our rules and regulations is this prohibited and that the choosing of an ICP is a personal decision and the College should have no say.  Mike then brought up the issue of his being criticized for not being on the stage during shows.  Mike pointed out that often times he was in the dressing room where he was needed if he wasn’t hosting.

Kevin Raleigh then brought up that every reign is run differently.  That some people’s perception of how things should be run is going to be different than another’s and that the ‘rigidity’ of monarchial behavior needs to be relaxed.  Everyone’s style is going to be different.  We need to let people run their reign.

Jim Smith then pointed out that technically the College has no power, except as their vote on the Board.  He stated that in the beginning the College started as a support system, or helpers, to the reigning monarchs.  He too stated the fact that there seems to be 2 Colleges.

Greg Barker then returned to several points.  He addressed the issue of the perception of the “male ICP”.  He felt that it should have been represented in a more masculine way.  He also stated that he felt that Roberta and Truly were incapable of staying out of trouble, but he was hoping that he was wrong.

Dixie then addressed the issue of the “mystery” of the College and suggested that maybe if minutes of the College meetings were presented as required that would go a long way in alleviating the wondering of what the College is doing.

Priscilla then mentioned the fact that Gene Sell is wishing to work with us again.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.
