Board of Directors/General Membership Meeting Minutes

I.S.Q.C.C.B.E.

 

In attendance:  Maxie Malone, Mike Burke, Poison Ivy, Nick Dufeck, Chuck Gordon, Karen Davis, Kevin McGraw, Viagra Falls, Priscilla DeVille, Greg Barker, Kathy King, Michael Cotrell, and Michael Connley.

 

The meeting was called to order by Kathy King, President.  Viagra Falls read our organizations purpose.

 

The minutes of our previous meeting were passed out by Maxie Malone and a motion was submitted for their approval.  The minutes were approved with the addition that Mike Burke will pay for PR Randy Bridges pin and the funds will not come out of the amount allotted for crowns etc.

 

President:

 

Kathy informed the board that Nancy from London had received our letter and it has been submitted to the Imperial Court Council.

 

Vice-President:

 

Articles for the newsletter must be in Brooklyn’s hands by the Saturday the 22nd.  Mike C. commented that all of AVOC references in the newsletter need to be changed to Stop Aids.  Mike C.  voiced concerns about weather or not we need 18 pages for our newsletter.  Newsletter length was discussed and it was determined that Mike and Brooklyn would get together and work on shortening the length of the newsletter if needed.

 

Treasurer:

 

The current months Treasurer’s Report was passed out by Mike Connley and key points were discussed. A motion was submitted for its approval.  1st Brooklyn, 2nd Poison, all approve. Kathy King inquired about what percentage of our funds go to our charities when all it said and done.  Mike gave an estimate that about 92% without Coronation and about 80% with Coronation.

 

Membership:

 

Greg informed the board that that we now have about 220 members.  Greg expressed his thanks to Mike C. for his help with the renewal letters that were sent out.  Greg indicated that the response to these letters has been very good.  Kathy King asked Greg if he would like to designate an upcoming month as a membership drive month.  This was discussed with no real decisions being made.

 

Monarchs: 

 

Shows for the upcoming month were discussed.

 

Ginger submitted a motion that the funds from the upcoming Iron Chef Cook-off go to Coronation – 1st Maxie Malone, 2nd Brooklyn, all approve.

 

A second motion was submitted that the funds from the show on the 28th go to the Anniversary Fund 1st Ginger, 2nd Mike B., all approve

 

College:

 

Ginger expressed her concerns that there was not a letter from the Monarchs in last month’s newsletter.  It may have been submitted one day late, but this cannot continue in the future.  This point was discussed in detail and all parties agreed to work on the issue in the future.

 

 

Old Business:

 

Coronation:  Nothing new at this point.  Brooklyn will sit down with the Monarchs after the Guinness Show to finalize the plans.

 

T-shirt Auction:  Since we cannot get in contact with Jim Smith it was decided by the board to call it a wash and distribute money set aside to the Reign 16 charities.

 

Parliament information/position – tabled

 

Wireless credit card – still researching.

 

Guinness update – logistics were discussed for this show as well as for Monte Carlo night.

 

Bylaw reminders – all bylaw changes must be submitted in writing to Kathy King by April 14th at 12:00 p.m. and the bylaw meeting will be held on May 14th at the Kenton County Public Library.

 

 

New Business:

 

Mr. QCL – the rules and applications for this competition were passed out.

 

Lexington Show - Kathy King informed the board that Lexington had expressed that they would like the funds for the show they were having for us to go to the Cincinnati Youth Summit.  She said that the show would be sometime in April with no actual date from them yet.

 

General Membership Business:

 

Kevin McGraw submitted two bylaw changes to Kathy King and made several comments directed at our empress.  Greg Barker asked Mr. McGraw to watch his comments and pay our Empresses the respect that she deserves.

 

Dobe for this month will be Krystal Kurler.

 

Motions to adjourn 1st Brooklyn, 2nd Ginger, all approve.
