Board of Directors/General Membership Meeting Minutes

I.S.Q.C.C.B.E.

 

 

In Attendance:  Dixie Crystals, Kathy King, Michael Connley, Ginger Snap, Brooklyn Steele-Tate, Priscilla DeVille, Scott Helton, Bob Kettenacker, Bob Gilbert, Jay Rickles, Mike Burke, Poison Ivy, Al Rizzotti, Dennis DeClaire, Scott Steger, Michael Anderson, Tamika, Karen Davis, Mike Finke, Truly Scrumptious, Jim Smith, Keith Roberts, Ed Blevins, Sam Clemons, Donald Sutherland, Bob Scott.

 

Meeting called to order at 6:58 pm by Kathy King, President Board of Directors

Purpose was read by Truly Scrumptious

 

President:

Kathy began by congratulating everyone for all the hard work put forth in the past month and for all the tremendous amount of hard work and effort put forth by all in the past year.  She then reminded everyone that at  the next evening’s Town Hall Meeting we would be addressing the concerns surrounding the Comedy Show and the designating of funds.  Anyone with questions or concerns should come to the meeting to have them addressed.  The issue of us not being listed as sponsors will also be addressed.

Kathy then reminded everyone that the time is approaching  for nominations for the expiring Board positions.  It was also decided to put the new Member-At-Large position in the newsletter to make everyone aware.

 

Vice President:

Brooklyn stated that all items for the newsletter are due by August 1, 2009

 

Secretary:

Minutes submitted for approval.  Motion to approve.

The issue of Jim Smith not receiving an Auction Item that he paid for was visited.  Motion was put forth to write him a check for the item that he never received to reimburse him.

Membership:

Bob Gilbert stated that we have 286 members.

 

College of Monarchs:

Ginger Snap reviewed some important upcoming dates:

July 26th  Monarchial Interviews at 1:00

July 17th Absentee ballot application deadline

August 7th Candidate Kickoff

August 20th Absentee ballot deadline

August 30th Voting at Rosies from 4-8

 

Voting was held for Monarchial Interview panel members.  The following are the results:

 Bob Kettanacker stated there was a Coronation XIX meeting on Sunday,   Everything is on track.

 

Monarchs:

Priscilla stated that we have 3 shows left in EOY month - Slade cancelled his BBQ.

The Monarchial Candidates will be doing the Radio Show in August.

 

Parliament:

Truly Scrumptious informed us all that the next session would be in Orlando, FL May 7th, 2010 and that it would be a 3 day conference.  She then covered some of the items that would be addressed. 

She then proposed that we hold a “Glitter Ball” in conjunction with Equality for Hate Crimes Awareness and the Matthew Shepherd Foundation in October.  A motion was put forth to get the planning going for this event even though it would involve a new reign.

Old Business:

Dennis DeClaire stated that we have 35 tshirts left

 

Al Rizzotti announced that he would share the proceeds with all EOY candidates that show up for his birthday show/party.  Motion put forth to approve $50 for food for the event

Available members of the Pageant Committee met on June 21st.  Conclusions reached:

1. Need for uniformity at all pageants

2. Work proceeding on spreadsheets with details for all pageants

3. Waiting for all members to be available to discuss cutting some pageants

4. Establishing criteria to standardize the judging of pageants

 

A discussion was initiated regarding the Memorial Page, specifically the listing of Paul Delph on the ICC page listing June and Paul.  It was decided that people need to come to the Board to have family members listed on the page or we contact them in writing.  Names will be mentioned at Board meetings in order to have an official record that they will be listed on the Page.

 

Jose Honors business postponed until new Board is seated.

 

 

New Business:

Wes Duncan received award from Caracole House.
