January 21, 2008 Board of Directors/General Membership Meeting Minutes I.S.Q.C.C.B.E.
In attendance: Viagra Falls, Ginger Snap, Robert Gilbert, Kathy King, Mike Burke, Poison Ivy, Brooklyn Steele-Tate, Michael Connley, Priscilla DeVille, Scott Helton, Robert Vandenburg, Mike Glassmeyer, Greg Barker, Gene Sell, Randy Bridges, Karen Davis, and Maxie Malone. Meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m. by President Kathy King. Our organizations purpose was read by Empress XI Ginger Snap. The minutes of our previous meeting were passed out by Maxie Malone and a motion was submitted for their approval. The minutes were approved with a correction that Coronation will be on September 6th not September 9th as was listed in the minutes. 1st Brooklyn, 2nd Mike B. All approve. President: Kathy submitted a motion that we send thank you letter to all the bars for their participation in the Tree of Life Campaign. 1st Kathy King, 2nd Ginger Snap, all approve. Kathy informed the board that she has been sending thank you letters to all of our new performers. Vice-President: Articles for the newsletter must be in Brooklyn’s hands by the 30th. Treasurer: The current Treasurer’s Report was passed out by Mike C. and key items were discussed. A motion was submitted for its approval. 1st Brooklyn, 2nd Greg Barker, all approve. Kathy King inquired if we were receiving payment for all our newsletter ads. Brooklyn answered that that all were current in payment. Membership: Greg informed the board that we currently have 220 members. Greg would like to send renewal letters to expired members. A motion was submitted to send renewal letters to all past members who have expired in 07 and take the cost of the postage from membership. 1st Greg Barker, 2nd Maxie Malone, all approve. Monarchs: Mike Burke requested all members who are going to out of town coronations to please let Greg, himself or Poison know so that protocol could be done in a timely manner. Shows for the upcoming month were discussed. A motion was submitted for the proceeds from the February 8th show at Shooters to go to the membership fund. 1st Greg Barker, 2nd Maxie Malone, all approve. College: Ginger Snap reported that the college had their first meeting this past Sunday with the Reigning Monarchs and everything is going well. Old Business: Coronation: Many meeting to discuss Coronation XVIII had occurred and plans will be finalized by next months meeting. A motion was submitted to sign the contract with the Millennium to secure the date of September 6th for coronation XVIII. 1st Maxie Malone, 2nd Mike Connley, all approve. T-shirt Auction: Kathy King will contact Jim Smith this month to find out what if anything is going on at this point. Tree of Life: The campaign did very well this year with Golden Lions being the winner of the contest. Krystal has talked to Bruce at GL and the ad is on its way. Kinko’s: We still have a $100.00 credit with Kinko’s. Parliament Position: Waiting until the by-law meeting to settle this issue. Wireless Credit Card: tabled. Tales of the Court: dismissed as there is no real issue. New Business: ICS Survey: Kathy King presented a survey from the Nicole the Great. It was decided that we would complete the survey as best we could and send back to the ICS. ICS Newsletter: A motion was submitted that we take from membership the $40.00 cost for ICS Newsletters to be sent to the Emperor and Empress. 1st Mike Connley, 2nd Maxie Malone. Motion did not pass. Yes: Mike C., Maxie, Mike B., Poison; No: Greg B., Ginger S., Abstain Brooklyn, Guinness Show: A motion was submitted to spend up to $200.00 on expenses of the Guinness Show. 1st Brooklyn, 2nd Mike C., all approve. Bike Run: tabled. Pride Committee: The GLBTC center has asked that a member of the ISQCCBE sit on the Pride Committee this year. After discussion it was determined that that we would not be involved in this aspect of the committee. Audit Committee: The audit committee consisting of Maxie Malone, Randy Bridges, Jim Smith, and Mike Connley will meet in February to complete the audit of the first part of Reign XVII. General Membership Business: Mike Glassmeyer informed the board and general membership that he is still interested in and wants to be involved with QCL this year DOBE: Brooklyn Steele-Tate Motion to adjourn at 8:40 p.m. 1st Ginger Snap, 2nd Maxie Malone, all approve.
